The Pastry Sous Chef at doh’hut is responsible for assisting the Pastry Chef in the production of high-quality doughnuts and other pastries. This includes mixing and rolling dough, cutting, and shaping doughnuts, and overseeing the frying, sugaring and pipping processes. The Pastry Sous Chef must also ensure that all recipes are followed correctly, and that the kitchen is properly stocked and organized. In addition to these duties, the Pastry Sous Chef will also be responsible for assisting with menu development and recipe creation, as well as cleaning and opening/closing of the kitchen/building. This person must be able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure and have a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-volume bakery/kitchen, as well as a passion for creating delicious and innovative doughnuts. A culinary degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
This role reports directly to the Pastry Chef.
Prior to serving guests, you will be required to satisfactorily complete Level 2 UK Food and Hygiene Certification, as well as satisfactorily complete doh’hut’s Orientation and Training Course. We will cover all associated costs of the training and your time to complete them.
This is a part-time position, with a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
